Mouseabout 2013 INFO!!!

Here is some info on MouseAbout for this year for you.

As Mouse would have turned 60 this year, our 9th Annual MouseAbout Benefit Co-Ed Softball Tournament and Auction will be a 60′s themed event meaning everyone is to dress in 60′s attire – even while playing!  (I’m totally rockin’ an Afro wig!!)  MouseAbout is on the 3rd weekend of August again (Aug. 17-18) with the agenda looking something like this:
Saturday Aug. 17th 2013
Tourney pool play begins!
Home run derby with 4 different divisions (men’s, women’s, teens, and kids)
Team costume contest (entire team must be dressed in 60′s attire to win)
Silent Auction
Sunday Aug. 18th
Tourney bracket play begins!
Fun continues throughout the day
We will have concessions open and music playing throughout the weekend with the occasional impromptu dance party on first base when my favorite songs are on:)  As this is a fund raiser and we like to keep everything light heart-ed and fun, we have special rules for the tournament.  Every even inning, the runners must run around the bases backwards (3rd base to 2nd base to 1st base then home).  We also have fun rules for hitting home runs.  Women…have at it!  You get progressive home runs throughout the weekend.  Men…pull out your wallets if you want yours to count:)  If you hit it over the fence it’s a dead ball out and the opposing team get’s a run UNLESS you can whip out $20 right then and there and hand it to the umpire to make the result of your home run count.  Remember this is a fund raiser:)
And now to the best part – what we are raising funds for.  MouseAbout is held each year in memory of Eileen “Mouse” Costello.  She was a dear friend of ours who struggled paying her medical bills while battling cancer.  MouseAbout was created to raise money to help her with those medical expenses.  She asked that we continue with MouseAbout after she passed to help other Kittitas County community members with their expenses while they are fighting cancer.  This year we have selected 2 recipients, Debbie Darst and Troy Sybertz.  They are both whole heart-ed community volunteers.  Attached is a more in depth story on each of them.  If you’d like to contact either one of them for any questions you may have for them, let me know.
So get your teams together now!  And remember – you must ALL dress in 60′s attire to win the team costume contest, bring an item for the auction, be 18 or older to play, and be ready to have fun!!!  (The whole family is invited to join in the MouseAbout weekend fun, but you must be 18 or older to play on a team)
